The rest

60 min

A funereal, gentle and nostalgic anticipation, Le repos is for me a journey for four voices and four bodies to say goodbye in advance. Le repos is a sad piece that invites us to mourn together, for all the people and things that are disappearing.

Le repos is the third part of my work on monochromes. It's a double piece, in two acts (a blue first act and an orange second act). Conceived for four performers in an evolving set that changes from blue to orange, it is a concerto of bagpipes, silences and weeping. A funereal, gentle and nostalgic anticipation, Le repos is for me a journey for four voices and four bodies to say goodbye in advance. Le repos is a sad piece that invites us to mourn together, for all the people and things that are disappearing. The world is a sad place, but we are used to facing it, standing up and carrying on. We cry sometimes, often alone, but rarely or never collectively. I didn't know a place where we could cry together and for others, even those we don't know. For me, Le repos is a journey for four voices and four bodies to say
goodbye in advance.
