Alabaster
Festival
65 min
It's Christmas in an ordinary family flat. But then the fantastic begins to creep in and another world appears: between the walls, under the beds, in the cupboards, in dreams and at night...
Festival tells two stories at once: that of a family's ‘magical’ evening, and that of the magic of the theatre. And that's all there is to it! Somewhere between a farce and a ballet, an end-of-year show and a very bad trip, somewhere between Steven Spielberg, Chantal Akerman and Gustav Mahler, Festival is an ode to wonder, illusion and the magic of the theatre. It's a play full of surprises, that shakes up the way we look at things, and ultimately leaves us a
little more enchanted. Coming together for the first time, the trio mischievously questions
the very act of putting on a show. What are we looking for on stage? And why? And for whom? The answer conjures up all kinds of moods, references, imaginations and magic. Festival is a free, playful, grand narrative.
